I have been a fan of Fiona since '96, when "TIDAL" was released. I think Fiona means so much to me as a singer/songwriter because I am a musician, having practiced piano and flute for over 10 years. She is an inspiration to me, as a writer and as a performer. I live 45 miles from Buffalo, New York, where Fiona played back in 1997. Unfortunately I was too sick to attend the concert, so hopefully she'll be back on the East Coast soon!

Have Tidal and Pleasantville and a tape of a bootleg (dont know which one). I havent seen her live yet, but will when she's on tour. I love her voice and disposition. She was part of my motivation to become a pure vegetarian and is part of my motivation as I am an aspiring vegan.

Fiona's music is a powerful medium - art connecting to her soul.  I've been a fan of her music almost from the onset of Tidal.  I connect with her soul in the tremendous sadness yet defiant strength that she pulls through.  I feel like we're both old souls.  Her music has that aura and transcends those bygone days.  We both grew up in NYC and have lived and seen the collision of extremes.  It's a living mystery in its mix -- passed to its dwellers.  Fiona -- a soulful songstress and a kindred spirit.

Fiona Apple is a beautiful spirit graced with immense talent.  Her music has inspired me greatly, and her attitude toward life in general and in the public eye has showed me a few things.  She is a great musician as well.  I can relate to Fiona because she acts so much like a human.  She views her honesty as an empowering and important tool in life, and I have come to realize that as well.

Fiona Apple is a kind soul, and is full of spirit. She is talented till no end, and as a human being, I have so much admiration for. I too , was a victim of rape and of self-hate, I know how she feels , and know how she thinks. I only wish that we were able to meet, but each of us lives in a different world, barred from each other.

Well, I think that Fiona is gifted. She appears to be a remarkably self-sufficient individual, and yet, she is deeply moved by her strong feelings of empathy. In song-writing, or writing in general, I am amazed by her keen concentration and application. She is very beautiful.

It's amazing how much soul someone so young possess.  Sure she might have done some crazy things and said some stuff that might make people think that she's just another eccentric artist who isn't as deep as she really she. But, I believe the beauty lies within the juxtaposition of her soulful lyrics/music and her youthful attitude.  She is beautiful from inside out and back again.  I don't think I've ever listened to someone who write such sublime lyrics.  I have not been able to stop listening to FAYC....
Paul Thomas Anderson is a talented director...however, I'm extremely jealous.
And is it me or is she just getting prettier and prettier?

i love fiona's lyrics. i've been very disappointed in the offerings of my other favorite artists.  their lyrics just don't stir me as i feel they should.  fiona's debut, tidal, has the best writing of any other i have purchased or listened to.  i once thought that i could always grow tired of a cd, but now i know i'll never grow tired of tidal.  i thought nothing could be better.  how i was wrong! "fast as you can" is the best i've heard ever! fiona had no competition for best voice, the only thing she could do is beat herself, and that she did!  i can't believe her  talent. before fiona, i didn't know my ears could enjoy such pleasure. thanks, fiona!

i've been fortunate to meet fiona 4 times and she is a sweetheart that cares so much about her fans. she puts so much of her soul into creating and performing her music that it reaches her fans in an inexplicable way. i have almost every fiona promo cd, every magazine she's ever been on the cover of (except for one), i have 6 bootleg cds, 1 bootlegged video and i've seen her perform 4 times. i can't wait for her return.... other favorites of mine, paula cole and tori amos...

Meeting Fiona: I have never met Fiona nor been to a concert, but i plan on doing so when she starts her 2000 tour, i hope then i will meet Fiona.

Interesting Collections: I have TIDAL, THE PLEASANTVILLE SOUNDTRACK AND WHEN THE PAWN. I have 200 pics of Fiona and 6 interviews from magazines that are about her. I also have a small website called "Fiona Apple: One Bad apple" [ no it is NOT easy to find, email me and i will show it to you]

What Fiona Means To Me: Fiona represents all will and grace in the world. She is a VERY young 22 but has a VERY MATURE outlook on a lot of things. Since 1996, i have followed Fiona alot. She is very in tact with today's world and society and is my favorite sexy sullen girl!

Fiona is wonderful. There's practically nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. She's been a great influence and served as divine inspiration, a muse for much of my own poetry. Whether it be subject or style, the way that I write, or what I write about or how I feel when I write. Her lyrics and music have this strong hold that seems to fill my body and capture the very essence of my heart and soul, providing me with words that I could not find to express all that I've ever felt in such an amazingly powerful connection. It's empowered me in so many ways, and helped me to come to terms with being gay, and dealing with many of the problems I've had with relationships. She seems to speak directly from my own heart, body, mind and soul and I cannot thank her enough for opening me to the world.

I went to the Rochester concert and waited for Fiona out back near her bus.  She was so appreciative of every compliment people gave her.  She was so sweet, on stage she was fierce, she was on fire, and outside she was unbelievable.  I spoke to her and she looked right in my eyes as she spoke back.  Of course it was only about 30 seconds worth of speaking but I will never forget it.  She puts so much into everything that she does.  I don't think anyone should give her shit over the NYC concert, and honestly I don't know why she bothers to apologize, those who are true fans wont get pissed at her.  No matter what that girl does she gets shit for from the press.  Well I love Fiona.  Also my friend took some pics of her outside taking autographs if anyone wants to see them e-mail me.  I guarantee you have never seen these before.

THE APPLE OF MY EAR

A seeming mastery of- or perhaps, immunity to rhythm,
A bold and gentle iconoclast that sparks my appreciation for tradition.
An honesty that tends to deceive my favor
A soulful taste of what I could not describe on my own
But in my own voice, only more dulcet.
Not a need, not a desire, not a not
Only an essence, a being, an existence- uniquely reaching
Like a snare of perfect rapture
Wrapping me up in a mystery- appetizing creation.

What Fiona means to me..... When I first saw shadowboxer on MTV it put a name and face to the lyrics and voice I had heard at a local youth center and fell in love with.  I remember thinking "wow her name is Fiona!" I thought the only other person with the name Fiona in the world was my Irish cousin, very outspoken, very interesting and unique.  Her name says what I think of her.  Fiona has opened a new world of courage.  I can write my feelings and not feel as though I am the only woman in the world who has strong emotions other than pure bliss.  To be able to be feminine, strong, and creative is not some lost idea.. it does happen in real life and Fiona is proof that it can happen at any age.

For Fiona-

I discovered you while I was swirled in a black wave.
You sang to me with your sultry words.
I listened, I captured, I saw.
It was your fury, your strength, your dignity and you r peace
that kept me from drowning.
There is light in the depths of my sea now:
no longer does this black wave linger.

Connection is too simple a word that can be used to describe the way I feel.  I want to be outstanding in my desire to meet you, Fiona.  You are a beautiful and talented person and meeting you would mean  the world to me.  I listen to your words and your music and it lights a flame in me that cannot be expressed  in words.  I relate to your words momentarily and your music is a thrill beyond art.  I feel that we are so much alike and I want to be in your presence to compliment you, to sing with you and to talk to you like friends do.  I have written tens of poems about you and hundreds of poems about anything and everything.  I can't write music.  I think that your talent is completely ahead of our time if even justified by time.  Listening to your music makes me happy, touched, thrilled and satisfied.  A desire in me cannot be met until I see you face to face.  Please do your best to grant me this opportunity.  It is my grandest wish.  Love, Reem

i was surprised to read in the Spin article (about fiona) that she was so upset about people like christina aguilera selling more cd's than her and not having superficial people on superficial shows like mtv's trl screaming her name.  i hope that she will understand that what is displayed on tv is not a collection of all fans across the country.  also, i hope fiona will see that fans of people like christina aguilera aren't really great fans.  those type of pop stars are merely fads that will soon go away and be forever forgotten.  but fiona is unimaginably different.  she has had influences on all of her fans that will never be forgotten.  i love fiona for this reason, and because she is so real and true.  she is a thinker, not someone who follows what others tell her to do or what society makes her do.  i was also upset to read that she wasn't sure if she wanted to come back and write another cd.  i hope she doesn't feel the same way now.  i hope she will continue to write such beautiful and empowering music that can change lives.  ...thank you fiona, for everything you've ever written.

the words that come from her mouth in such soft notions are like a breeze to my soul. the thought put in and pain felt is much appreciated. the music the felling the mood the surrounding and the touch are very amazing! i love the way she sings the way she moves the way she lives. its an all natural way and the way most should be. she is happy, joyful, full of life. i do not only like fiona because of her music (although it is very good and soothing to the soul) but i love fiona as for who she is why she is who she is. she is hero and i n my eyes she is great! i listen to her words so  true and wonder about my life. i think of what she means, i ponder on her thoughts. now that is what you call music and soul entertainment! thanx!

my thoughts of fiona.......i think she is so amazing; i don't even know where to begin.  her music astounds, soothes, and excites me all at once.  i'm so in love with the music, i have fallen in love with the woman - every picture i see i think is beautiful,  every dance is graceful and powerful, every facial expression or giddy movement cute and endearing.  i have met fiona a few times, and every time she has been nothing but friendly and kind.  if she had been in a bad mood at any of those moments i'll never know--she always seems genuinely happy to meet people who are fans of her music. i'm already anticipating the greatness of her next album and tour.  in short, fiona is love.

Fiona's music makes me think. All her lyrics take you through a story.  I feel the anger and hurt in her songs, and that relates me.  I write my own music, and for some reason, i always seem to write stuff that is sad or hateful. (kinda like fiona) Growing up with a divorced family, an alcoholic as a father and being a middle child, I've always strived for attention in anyway possible. So music allows me to help get some of that anger out.  When i first purchased Tidal in 96', i fell in love with Fiona's voice and when WTP came out i had to go get it. FIONA'S AWESOME!!  I use to spend (and still do) hours at a time just listening to her songs over and over again.  Whether i just feel like singing or I'm my minds a little off from self-hate, her music helps me get my feelings out.  Oh yea one more thing, recently i participated in music show with a piece i co-wrote with my friend, the audience loved it.  Afterward they came up to me and told me that i sounded like Fiona.  THanks for being such and inspiration to all young singers/songwriters out there.

FIona has helped me through some of the hardest times in my life. She just showed me that it was normal to feel the way that I did and that you should be proud of your faults as well as your accomplishments. She means the world to me and will continue to be a tremendous inspiration in my life forever.
