There is no one else quite like Fiona.  Her voice, movements, and her emotion that she puts into her work are enough to bring me to my knees. I saw Fiona in concert in Detroit MI on November 21, 1997. I was one of the lucky few to actually meet her. She was sick on the day I was there, but still took the time to talk to the three of us who were crazy enough to stand out in the cold to wait for her.  I wanted to cry when I finally saw her. All I could think of was all those times when I would listen to her music and live every word she said, and all I could remember were all those magazine articles I had cut out and hung up in my room, basically making a shrine. The reality of her though was beyond comprehension.  She will never remember meeting me but I will always remember every last detail. Now that she has her new INCREDIBLE cd out, which is just as good if not better than her last, I hope to see her in concert many times again this coming year. She really isn't just some star that I am obsessive over, she is a wonderful amazing human being who has more talent than people give her credit for.  If she were to read this I would just thank her for fulfilling her dreams and setting an example for any person to follow. Her music has really made me a better person.

I had bought "Tidal" awhile after it's release.  I don't have MTV or VH1.  I happened to have 20 dollars in my pocket, heard "Criminal" once, and a friend who said she was "pretty good".  It wasn't tell a month or so later I sat down and LISTENED to her.  And I realized how beautiful her music was.  It was pure poetry, and everything had meaning.  There was a song for every emotion, and I could relate to this music.  The night I had realized this, I felt so content.  "Slow Like Honey" became my most played track.  *chuckle*  Makes me think of that special guy....It amazed me this song emoted that is such a way.  Fiona is amazing, it's just that, plain and simple.

can words describe the beauty that enlies itself in those crystalline palaces in your eyes. your voice is better than happiness, richer than sadness, it is beyond any emotion that i have felt before in my entire length of existence so uh basically, i would kill to be within five feet of you, you are my muse
you are that pale day
that passes by slowly
like the gentle breeze
that graces
my empty tears
you are haunting
the world inside of me

I think that Fiona is one of the most talented songwriters of our generation, if not the most talented.  I aspire to be a singer, and I could only dream of becoming as gifted as she is. It would be a dream come true if I could have a conversation with her.  I guess that's all for now!

Fiona is just an awesome person. She inspires my music and my poetry. Its cheesy, but I have a poem of hers taped to the outside of my poetry book. The words she says are just so close to what I've been trying to get across. So until I make it in this cruel world and my words are heard everybody just listen to Fiona cause shes saying the things that need to be said.
With much love and respect--
Tiff
