What Fiona Means to you:
the power of letting myself feel all these feelings that i have. of not hiding behind a shield of self-pity, of not being mad at myself for jealousy that's in me. realizing that human emotions are meant to be felt, and you'll feel all of them in your lifetime. it's about knowing that no matter what my mood, there's music to comfort me. sarah mclachlan may be the best for outright sadness, but she doesn't cover the anger that you sometimes feel, the half-emotions that cannot be described.

She puts things in a way that no one else can put it. It's amazing to me that she can feel the same things I do and say it in such a beautiful way.

The first time I heard her music it captured me.  To this day it still has a strong hold.  The first time I saw her in concert awakened a part of myself I had forgotten for far to long.  I heard the show announced the day of the concert.  I told a buddy I would buy him a ticket if he gave me a ride.  He did, and we ended up sitting front row, center stage.  To top the evening off we stuck around after the show and got to meet her.  That was july 1, 1997.  Ever since then I have done everything I can to make her music and all music a part of my daily life.  Thank you Fiona!

I feel that Fiona Apple's music inspires me when I feel angry or depressed.  When I am angry at someone in school who makes me want to run and hide, or just cry, I think of the song 'Limp'.  I also like the rhythm of Fiona's music.  The rhythm on Fiona's fast songs makes me want to stomp down a hall with all the confidence in the world; confidence that nobody is going to knock me down without my consent.  I realize that now Fiona Apple is out of the spotlight.  I hope she makes an effort to come back because her fans love her music and her poetic lyrics.
