The single, "Fast As You Can" is due to hit the stores on October 5th! That means that the single will hit the radio waves before the end of September.  Get ready to request this single from your favorite radio station!  Expect a video to accompany the single to be released in late September as well.  Isn't this exciting?  Guess who's first in line to direct the new video?

August 26, 1999: UPDATE - Rolling Stone & VH1 on the album:

August 24, 1999:  Nov 9!!!!!!!

Yes! November 9 will be the release date of Fiona's most awaited album!  And, holy smokes here's the official announcement of Fiona's album titled:

"When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He'll Win the Whole Thing 'Fore He Enters the Ring There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights And if You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land And if You Fall It Won't Matter, 'Cuz You'll Know That You're Right" -- 90 words!  The world's longest album title as reported by Sonic Net.  This is the poem that Fiona recited before some her concerts in 1997.

The first single will be: "Fast As You Can."  The upbeat, almost frantic rock song is propelled by a boogie-woogie piano riff, Beatlesque backing vocals and a funky drum beat that has the feel of a drum & bass dance track.  The enigmatic songstress delivers the chorus in her trademark throaty deadpan, singing, "Fast as you can/Baby, run free yourself up/As fast as you can."

The album will be 10 tracks, and will feature "Limp," "To Your Love," "Paper Bag," and "Love Ridden."  Here's the entire Sonic Net article.

They also quote a certain David and Nanikita on their expectations!

August 23, 1999:   From Newsweek

In the August 30 issue of Newsweek, they have their Fall Preview, and included in the fray are Fi and Paul!:

Fiona Apple
When "Tidal" debuted, Apple's bluesy alto stole sexiness back from the Spice Girls. Then some diva moments proved she needed to ripen a bit. Hot producer Jon Brion (Rufus Wainwright) should help ward off a sophomore slump. (Nov.)

Magnolia
Director Paul Thomas Anderson's follow-up to the brilliant "Boogie Nights." If you're a Tom Cruise fan and "Eyes Wide Shut" wasn't the shocker you were expecting, wait until you see him with a samurai hairdo, playing a rabid infomercial guru who preaches the joys of chauvinism. Cruise is part of an intense ensemble movie about life, death and the San Fernando Valley. (Dec.)

The wait seems to be over, and we'll keep you updated on the latest.  As soon as the official word is out, you'll see it posted here!

August 22, 1999:  Album & Movie

Listen up all you Fionafanswhojustcan'twait!  The album is
finished, is "truly astonishing," and expect a definite release date sometime in the next few days!  Let's just say that she is putting the finishing touches on the cover design and you will have the album soon!  Woo hoo!  Any guesses on the title?!

Also of note, her boy, P.T. Anderson has a certain $40 million dollar movie coming out in December called Mag-no'li-a.  Check out the site!  From all we've heard about this movie, and its trailer, it's spellbinding!  Just as in "Boogie Nights," he's written the screenplay and directed it.  It's the most awaited and double-guarded secret in upcoming movies.  You must go see it in December!

For anyone interested, we've added a fan directory called Soulful Graces.  Be sure to add yourself and check out other fans in your area.
