From Patty:

Hello again everyone...

Okay, I really just need to thank Fiona's crew and the Riverside security for being such nice guys. I've met a lot of bands before and sometimes security can be real assholes, to put it nicely. So thanks to Fi's crew and the security for being great.

My friend and I met Fi again before the show. I think she was surprised because when she got off the bus, there was a rather large crowd of obnoxious older men (obviously autograph hounds who were going to sell their signed copies of SPIN on eBay). I think she was very surprised to see this. Anyway, thanks again to Fi for being so sweet and easy to talk to and gracious.

Let's see...this show was reserved seating which is really nice. We were in the front row of the pit section. I should have brought a camera, but I forgot it at home. I guess 3 hours of sleep can do that to you. I talked to Jurassic 5 before the show and they were saying "Man, I hope we don't get booed tonight". I thought they were great! Another high energy performance, even though people seemed alarmed--like, "what is this hip-hop rap group doing here? Aren't they supposed to be at the DMX show down the street?". Oh well, I'm definitely going to be buying "Quality Control" their upcoming CD.

Fiona finally came out. She was wearing the pink sleeveless shirt and the long black skirt, if anyone cares. The set list was the same as always...let's see...Fiona was coughing a lot in between verses and songs, so I really hope she starts to feel better soon!!! Her throat seemed really dry, she even made a comment like "Is anyone else's throat really dry?" or
something to that effect.

There was very little between stage banter and for once, people weren't really throwing things onstage, except a bouquet of flowers that nearly hit her during "Just One of Those Things". Before she played "A Mistake" she made a comment about how she has "been making mistakes all over the place tonight" but then after the song she was saying that she didn't mean for that to be a stupid segue into "A Mistake" and that she really is making mistakes.

Highlights....let's see...I thought the encores were especially strong tonight. I was really amazed by "Kissing My Love". It totally rocked out and she really put a lot of energy into it. And it really takes a lot of guts to get up there by yourself and sing along to an old jazz tune recording. I was very impressed. She seemed to be in a good mood and made a comment about how "tonight went very well". She was dancing a lot more than in the Chicago show. She seemed to have a good time, even though her throat was probably killing her. I don't know if I've said this before, but she really does have an extremely special gift and it's a real credit to her to be able to share it with us night after night. She puts a lot of emotion and intensity into her shows. I've noticed she is very particular about the sound and things. This is just her way of making sure the audience gets the very best show possible. So thank you to her for really caring about the quality of the show and being just so fucking great. I can't wait to see her again.
