| (NEW YORK) - Erykah Badu
and Fiona Apple are the top nominees for the 1997 Billboard Music Video
Awards, to be presented Nov. 22 in Los Angeles at the close of the 19th annual
Billboard Music Video Conference. Badu earned four nominations in the R&B/urban category, and her video "On & On" is up for the Maximum Vision Award and the best director honor. Apple's "Sleep To Dream" is up for five awards. Spice Girls, Jamiroquai and Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliot are also top contenders. This year's competition includes the new FANtastic Video Award, to be voted upon exclusively on the Internet at Billboard Online.
